About Us

Memory and Me was created to support those affected by cognitive decline and the families who suddenly find themselves navigating the unknown. We take a holistic, person-centred approach to helping people understand dementia, recognise behavioural changes, step into a new caregiving role, and learn how to care for themselves along the way.

As our ageing population grows and dementia becomes more common, we saw how many families were left without accessible, compassionate support — and how overwhelming that gap can feel. Through age-appropriate books, practical resources, and gentle education, we aim to support both those living with dementia and the people who love them, with a strong focus on preventing caregiver burnout.

At the heart of Memory and Me is the belief that people living with dementia still hold their memories — they simply access them differently — and that connection can be nurtured through storytelling, music, familiarity, and routine.

Why Memory Matters

At Memory & Me, we believe that every person is more than their diagnosis.

We believe in care that honours the whole individual — their memories, their preferences, their culture, their family, and the life they have lived. Even as memory changes, identity remains, and it deserves to be respected, protected, and gently supported.

Our philosophy is built on dignity, familiarity, and compassion. We know that comfort is found in the small things: familiar routines, gentle touch, meaningful connection, and environments that feel safe rather than overwhelming.

Having spent years alongside people living with dementia and supporting their families, we understand that no two journeys are the same. Care should never be rushed or one-size-fits-all. Instead, it should be guided by patience, empathy, and a deep respect for individuality.

We believe in supporting not only those living with memory loss, but also the families and carers who walk beside them. Our approach is about easing discomfort, reducing stress, and creating moments of calm, connection, and reassurance — for everyone involved.

Meet Our Founder

Kayleigh spent nearly a decade working in aged care as a lifestyle officer and coordinator, supporting people living with dementia and the families walking alongside them. Throughout this time, she learned that the most meaningful care does not come from routines or programs, but from respect, patience, and truly seeing the person in front of you. Her values have always been grounded in dignity — treating people not as a diagnosis, but as individuals shaped by their life stories, interests, culture, and the relationships that matter most to them.

One moment in particular helped shape the path she chose. Kayleigh once heard a story about an elderly man who called into a radio station to answer a trivia question — only he didn’t know the answer. He had called simply because he was lonely and wanted to talk to someone. The story stayed with her in a profound way and became part of what drew her to aged care. Over time, her natural empathy and deep connection with the people she supported led her into a dementia-specific role, where she focused on creating moments of comfort, familiarity, and genuine human connection. She remains deeply grateful for the trust placed in her — getting to know people for who they had been throughout their lives, and honouring who they were becoming. That experience continues to shape everything she creates today.
